I recently watched a younger Monty, Anne Marie Powell and Carol Klein on a tv show called Real Gardens on Together TV (Virgin 269), dunno if it's on Freeview. A show where they visit gardeners undertaking new projects and gardeners starting from nothing. It has been repeated on here a few times so look out for it again if you're interested. Monty was really good with the people he met. He was helpful with advice and got stuck in with the hard work. Monty showed his sense of humour, he's a witty guy and had a great rapport with others. I liked Toby Buckland when he briefly presented GW. I enjoyed his presenting style, informative and calm. I think it was a shame he was almost sharing the role with Joe Swift, who I avoid watching at all costs. YouTube has some good gardening shows on there. Plantsmans Corner with Malcolm Hockman is good. His " So You Think You Want To Run A Nursery" series of month by month things they do are great. His humour is sometimes fruity but his how to videos are clear and concise and have taught me a lot. He shows us around his wonderful nursery and shares his propagating methods. He had started a new series in January and posts a new video each Monday . It's interesting to see him keep going during Lockdown. He even has 3 terrier for the dog lovers out there.
Thankyou @AnniD. I'm glad you liked what you saw. Btw Adam Frost is going to do another live show on Instagram this Friday. He hasn't confirmed what time yet. He is I think he said going to try and record this weeks to post later. He admits he wasn't fully prepped technology wise last week. When I know what time he's doing it I will post it here.
Together tv is great for old gardening programmes including alys Fowler edible garden.all sorts.my sister lives in miami and loves monty and his garden.its too hot there to have anything like a cottage garden so she loves it.and I love montys new dog.beyond jealous!
Well lots of opinions i for one enjoy the show and am immensely greatful they are carrying on i love monty, frosty, rachael, frances and all the animals i do think it would be worth while digging up no pun intended :)some old programmes
I totally agree with @robiwan , I love the programme, the animals, the plants etc. Some of Monty's roomed gardens are not to my liking but there is always something to learn from them i.e. don't plant Stipa grasses.
I agree, too. In fact I have enjoyed ALL the many presenters, in their different ways and find the programme a welcome break from the demands of the rest of my life, sometimes even the demands of my garden!
You should know @drwaiyeeli, that the British love a good moan, we're world renowned for it 😁 Hope you are safe in LA. Does Britbox show Garden Rescue ?
I had forgotten. I've not heard of Garden Rescue - sounds like it would be good. Unfortunately, we only get a very limited number of British gardening shows here. Many many people in LA pay for 'gardeners' because they can't be bothered to mow their own lawn (actually we do too...) or clip their hedges. Its rare that someone has their own lawn mower - like we used to in London.
