I had a lovely " feet up" hour last night and enjoyed most of the programme. Monty seemed brighter and gave lots of good basic advice for new gardeners. It was very shocking to read about the deaths of Rod and Rachel Saunders who were killed the day after filming but I learned a lot about gladioli. The blossom segment didn't interest me, but we can't enjoy everything and I liked the viewers garden clips. It is still the best TV hour of the week for me and they are doing a great job keeping the programme going.
Remember there were a few rude comments about Arthur and his tulips last year...container gardening does bring them through the woodwork all too frequently 😂 nice to see Frances again and her allotment...but no Adam Frost. Monty just looked so self satisfied with his new camera set up like Gloria Swanson getting ready for her close up. Must have thought the gig was slipping through his fingers and now he has got it nailed once more. All quite amusing.
Well that was better. Seems all that sun in April did Monty the world of good.
Arthur with his chickens and tulips, wonderful, such a character and was great to see it again.
The gladiola clip was really interesting, was it an old one? I remember seeing something similar, but not sure it was the same.
Thought the Longmeadow filming this week was as good if not better than when they had film crews.
Frances needs a bit of trowel instruction and a small tip, it is easier to water the bottom of the drill after making it, rather than water the soil before, but hit the spot for new gardeners and showed the essential info.
So all I have to moan about this week, is I have nothing to moan about.
Pretty much everything I moaned about last week has been addressed, so feel a little bit justified in highlighting the shortcomings.
Nice that Monty will take new growers through the process of growing tomatoes, it is just that sort of element of the show of old that is so sorely missed.
Also enjoyed seeing Monty on the One Show earlier in the evening as well. Nice book collection, if somewhat untidy.

Or he just loves gadgets and was super happy to have more responsive cameras to help with the filming, rather than the more rudimentary cameras he had for the past couple of weeks... In our house, we've been joking that the past couple of episodes were filmed on an iPhone, due to the quality! Doesn't detract from the love for the program, but just something to lighten the mood.
The remote cameras worked really well and it was great to see younger people and children getting involved with gardening. I felt that the veg/decorative balance was about right, though I must admit that few things would depress me more than a garden without flowers, at a time like this! I loved the tulip and chickens chap, he's a star and I always enjoy everything that Monty presents.
I loved the program was fully in to it for the whole hour and i had seen that bit eith arthur before but what a lovely chap looking forward to next weeks
