Sounds like it’s a day for a comforting mug of hot chocolate or similar @Pat E (hugs)

Good morning.   Clear skies, bright sun, perishing wind.  OH is taking the ILs and dogs for a walk round the lake in the village then after lunch we're all off, minus dogs, for a walk on the beach and a visit to the local nature reserve which, it seems, has loads of varieties of birds, insects and wildflowers.

Sorry for Pat's OH and LP still in the wars.  Hugs to both and yes Pat, plan a treat for when he comes out the other side.  Good to read that Pa is doing well now Chicky.

Sticky chicken recipe please Dove tho I can't get sherry here so will have to improvise.

Have a lovely day everyone and keep warm.

@Obelixx ... this is as near as dammit to the one I used to use and it’s the one I’ll be following today https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/7997/sticky-chicken-with-sherry-almonds-and-dates

I’m going to joint and use a whole chicken
... cheaper to buy a whole one than
    joints.

Im thinking of adding some quartered chicons of chicory for the last half hour ... I think that’ll work well with the sticky sweetness ... and serving with slightly crushed and roasted Charlotte potatoes.

@Obelixx can’t get sherry in France or just where you live, I would have thought it would have been plentiful there, isn’t it made in Spain?

You'd have thought so wouldn't you Lyn but it's a step too far for the chauvinistic French tho they do now have "exotic" stuff from their overseas territories for those who have travelled.  Just have to know which supermarket or market stall stocks them and also where to find the well hidden Asian stores.

Thanks Dove.   Now to decide whether to do that tomorrow for dinner or stick to plan A which was tagine on the grounds that the spices are similar to but not quite and Indian curry which senior SIL says she doesn't like.   Got her with a Thai curry on Friday cooked with fresh spices and herbs.   She enjoyed it - knows nowt about cooking tho so thinks curry is curry as in local takeaways.

Are you allowed to buy the sherry when you come to Uk and take it back?

I can get it in Belgium when I'm there.  Forgot last time tho.   What with our move and all, I haven't been to England since junior SIL's 60th birthday in September 2016.
