I thought it was owned by Grampian Council Anni but I don't know if they pay for the upkeep. This BBC Scotland channel is a new thing, obviously on a small budget as it's all repeats, so it will be down to cost.

I have just emailed BBC Scotland and mentioned, among other points, that it's a very short sighted move given the shorter growing season in Scotland.

I suspect you'll just get a standard reply Joyce, but please let us know what they say  :)

@Purplerain, l did a bit of digging (if you'll pardon the pun), and l can't seem to find that much info. It does say on Wikipedia (so it must be accurate ;) ), that the site was acquired by Tern Television who produce the programme, but l can't find out much more.
I must say l agree with Joyce that it's a very short sighted decision,  but possibly with the long term aim of doing away with it altogether, at least on TV, in order to save costs. I wonder what the viewing figures on BBC Scotland are in general?  Maybe another question for Points of View!

What a pity, Beechgrove had a place on television as it was different to Gardeners World, I was surprised when I watched the recent programme about the history of the show as it appeared that in the past Beechgrove was more of a comedy show rather than a gardening programme, maybe that's what BBC Scotland wants now a new comedy show.

It's a absolute disgusting not many gardening programmes on telly , what have a replaced it, all over the news they are calling for less time usage on the Internet and they take programs of air that get you outside and active, BBC wake up we all don't want to watch soaps and realty shows we want to stimulate our brains.

I too missed Jim    so   I googled my querying what had happened
"The Scot s "  newspaper  gives a good explanation, he had been missed by many .

Has BBC Scotland given any explanation as to why the show is off air for so long?
