George's garden tool segments are far too short, just another minute or so would allow him to provide more detail.  At least this week he did highlight the problem with some hoes.

It's annoying that he didn't name them - always good to know which kind is which, and why. Just "this one", "this one" and "that one" to choose from, then!

Possibly not named because it's a BBC programme and that could considered advertising?

You misunderstand me, I didn't mean naming brands, I meant naming types of hoe (Dutch etc) and what the differences are.

  • I'd like to see more on the tools but I've got a tool habit.

It was good to see George's face. Taking off his hat has taken ten years off him. I still avocate wearing an SPF hat (sunscreen and sunglasses) while gardening to protect one's face and eyes from UV damage.

    Nice garden in Lockerbie.

Just looking through the latest GW magazine. l see that in the Beechgrove Garden section it states that Beechgrove will be back on air in 2020.
Admittedly it doesn't say when, or for how many episodes, but l suppose it's something.

Beechgrove gets better each week at the moment, I'm even warming to Brian's style of presenting.
  • After reading this thread I decided to give beechgrove a go, having never seen it before...well I'm hooked. I actually think...dare I say it...It's better than GW. I think it's more informative to us amateurs, more down to earth with the "normal" gardens and gardeners and I love the tool section. Although I don't think that's long enough. So I guess I want to say thank you to you all for introducing me to the programme. It's on my watch list

    Glad you enjoyed it @Ericaheather:)
I thought the item about the plants that appeared when the grass was left alone, was very interesting.
Don't think l'll be able to persuade OH to stop cutting his pride and joy though !
The butterfly/moth section was informative as well.
