There's useful but sometimes they don't get the Friday evening broadcast I believe.

The new woman seemed very nervous and her presentation was very stilted and un-natural.  Hopefully she will relax into the job given time.  Didn't see much point in the segment about creating wreaths.  Looked more like something from the Generation Game.  I hope they aren't dumbing down!

Barry - the Monday programme is a special about the 40 years of Beechgrove which will, of course, include a lot of Jim.  The next scheduled emission is Thursday, weekly, on BBC Scotland and is repeated on BBC2 at 12:30pm on Sunday.

Thanks very much Obelixx I couldn't find the listing. Thinking of what KT53 said about the new presenter and the rather strange wreath making, it looks like Jim's decision to retire came after filming had started and the programme may have had to be re-jigged at short notice. The programme started off as normal and Jim was overseeing potato planting discussing no dig, and then he was announcing his retirement.

I’m Very glad Beechgrove is back, but I will really miss Jim and his humour. I liked the new woman, but was disappointed that the house plant segment didn’t give better info about which plants are best suited to sunny windowsills or dark corners. It looked as though one plant had been placed right next to radiator. The best way to put off new gardeners is to set them up for house plant death!

yes. Tends not to come up in the listings if you're not in Scotland but if you search 'Beechgrove' it pops up. It's usually there an hour or so after it's first broadcast in Scotland

I think the Monday programme is basically the story of Jim's 40 years in Beechgrove, rather than 40 years of Beechgrove with Jim just as an element of that.
