@Punkdoc, do you mean Mark Lane on GW?  If so I agree.

He can be OK but not on GW this week.  He missed the point, I felt.

I am saving Beechgrove for Wednesday pm when I get my TV back with nobody talking over the bits that interest me.   Funny how they can all concentrate when they have their football/snooker/racing/whatever on!

With due respect to Jim this weeks Beechgrove was like a breath of fresh air, a quicker slicker presentation style and the new lady who I don't think is going to be on every week looked like a natural in front of the camera.

Last weeks show was very turgid they need some new ideas, I haven't watched this weeks but I think that they should give the lady who has the organic veg box business more airtime, maybe she could show her growing techniques. Last week George who is so knowledgeable was showing us how to sow seed next to paving slabs something that he showed a couple of years ago. Losing Jim the way that they did must have been a shock to them but they need to come up with something new.

I support a vote for more veg oriented slots but I don't mind seeing techniques repeated, as with any skill there are new viewers joining who may know nothing and appreciate the information. Plus I have reached a time in my life where anything needs to be repeated several times  :D

I have reserves about the end product but the slot where chappy gardened with his children and got them happily involved has to be a good move.  Just needs refining a bit.   George's garden visit was good too.

It is a bit lack lustre at the mo but I assume they'll find a new balance and it does still pack in more info and practical help than an hour of GW.

I've just watched the last episode and am glad to say that they seem to be back on track, a very enjoyable informative show. I didn't get the seed balls idea but the kids seemed to enjoy it, it's nice to see other peoples gardens so George's spot was nice and Carole in the greenhouse is always enjoyable.

I'm still unconvinced by some of the apparent changes in this series.  In the first programme they spent ages (or it seems like ages) creating wreaths, and it seemed more like something from Blue Peter or the Generation Game.  This week it was creating a wigwam den and seed balls.  I'm suspicious that they have new people in the production team who are targetting a different audience.  Possibly one which isn't watching so doesn't realise its being targetted.
