My first Munstead Wood flower. It smells divine.

Could anyone help me identify this unnamed rose? I’ve pruned it hard in February and now it’s about 5ft tall.

Darcy Bussell really getting going now.  Has suffered badly from black spot later in the season the last couple of years.  Fingers crossed it won’t be as bad this year

@pitter-patter It looks very like Royal Jubilee, shape and colour of the flowers, colour of the leaves and maroon edging to the leaves as well

Thank you so much, @Mr. Vine Eye. It does look very similar!

No, it's not Royal Jubilee.. there are too many fierce thorns on the canes, and the foliage is not correct... it's also too upright.. please show a fully open bloom when it happens then we can go further...

Thank you, @Marlorena. I’ll post a photo with the fully open bloom, unless the rain will get to it before I do.

Yes! the thorns were the thing that was making me doubt it, mine's not so thorny- that's why I stuck with "looks like".

mind you I've got a relatively thorny Mortimer Sackler by the looks if it - waiting for it to bloom and check he is who he says he is!

...no probs... the bloom does have an 'RJ' look about it, so easy to mistake that, but I will be very surprised if it turns out to be that rose...  where did you get the rose from @pitter-patter ...please ?..
Lovely Darcey Bussell, and nice to see it as whole bush shot..  @1634 Racine
