    It is, they improved it so much from the first time we visited. There wasn't a huge amount of planting, it was mostly grass, now there's all sorts in there.

    There was a really beautiful arrangement of Lavendar and another plant which I recognised but can't think of the name - anyway they had them arranged, very neat but dense hedges, in alternate curved lines running all along a large raised area. So the flowering height of the plants is nearly at eye level.

    must go again in a few weeks when it's all in flower and buzzing.

    @Eglantyne

    I love that picture and the shape of the bloom. I really like that 'chalice' shape of bloom where you can still see the stamens in the middle.

    Desdemona is on my shortlist along with Sarborough Fair - when (definitely when not if ;)) I buy some more roses.

    Everytime I'm in the garden I can't help but look for spaces to fill, and possibly other plants to move around to make spaces if they don't exist yet!

    Failing that I'll get some more large pots.

    After weeks of nothing but rain, we finally got 2 days of sun mixed in with a few thunderstorms. It was just enough to start the explosion of Therese Bugnet. Remember the diseased leaves I posted a week ago? This is her!

    Catching up on all the gorgeous roses - Desdemona does look very classy - and enjoying the rose garden visits too.

    I’m glad Therese is feeling better @emsgrdn, she looks beautiful with all those blooms tumbling down to the ground. Good colour on Hansa too, mine were much paler last year but doing better in a new position, less exposed to harsh sun.

    (I like it against the stone wall, and have decided to plant some G Rozanne with it in the interest of colour combining...)
