@Mr. Vine Eye   glad you had a nice day out again.... I'm sure you'll like Munstead Wood, apart from the thorns...  I like to warn people with young children because it may not be something one always considers...

I agree, the top one looks different and the number of canes and growth surprised me. It's 'La Belle Rouge' bred by Martin Vissers, a rose I don't know anything about, really a leap of faith ordering it but it looks like it's going to be a vigorous one.

...terrific aren't they..  and what less than half price of what they are here?..   I'm tempted to get some myself, I've just been looking through their listings again...

    They came today!

Alphabetical order - Desdemona, Lady of Shalott, Munstead Wood and Scarborough Fair

Lady of Shalott had an unexpected hair cut sand lost an entire cane! I’m not sure whether it was me being careless or it was already loose and I just finished it off! All in the ground anyway.

    Excited for next season!

We’re off out to local GC tomorrow to see if we can get the rose “ Golden Wedding” bush rose.

Im sure you’ll be able to, they have them everywhere!

Arthur Bell is another well rated yellow which has a strong scent - also commonly available (with the less expensive roses c£4)
