@Nollie - Eustacia Vye was the prettier of the two, but the Austin on the stand which appealed to me most was Vanessa Bell which, to my eye, has charm and delicacy. Emily Bronte was more appealing than in her photos. I agree with you regarding both Harlow Carr and Lady Emma Hamilton.
@Eglantyne - nice photo of The Mayflower. I have the white equivalent, Susan Williams Ellis, which I like very much.
@Jemula I thought that the Gabriel Oak was the prettier of the two. Different Strokes for different folks
My sister and I especially liked the Frances E Lester growing over an arch. Gorgeous.
Thanks @Jemula, glad its not just me with Harlow Carr and Lady Em! Vanessa Bell always looks good in Marlorena’s photos on her Notes thread...
I too have Susan Williams Ellis, second year, hasn’t really taken off yet, a bit leggy and not so many blooms. Next year hopefully.
Tess is going to look amazing with that Nigella when it flowers @B3, nice combination. Glad your mystery rose has picked up, I have chopped all the flowers and buds off my pink monstrosity, couldn’t bear looking at it.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

I also liked some of the single roses on Beales stand.
