A few photos from Nostell Priory today.

Arthur Bell - they had a large group of them. It's one that I've planted at home and I'm looking forward to it even more now! Pretty red and yellow buds, big open flowers and a lovely scent. Looks much better in real life than in the photos I'd seen.

Found another familiar face poking out of the border.

Really long wall with lots of white climbing roses - couldn't tell the variety and it didn't say anywhere.

Nothing to do with roses but I really loved the chive hedge around the veg patch!

@Marlorena I don't my pics do DA gardens true justice and many of his older HT, species and damasks have yet to flower. It will be a wonder in the next 2 weeks

I grow chive and artichokes for the flowers. It would be sacrilege to pick them off!
    In London. Keen but lazy.

@Jason-3 … you'll have to go back there again then Jason... we demand more pics..

@Mr. Vine Eye    glad you had a nice day out... nice photos of a garden I'd not heard of before... [I'm still waiting for the 'like' button..lol]..

Beautiful Reine Victoria.. and all the others earlier...

  • Has anybody got any experience of the climbing rose 'Madame isaac pereire'? Is it any good for pollinators? In many pics online it seems as though the blooms have a slightly exposed centre. I'm hoping I can get one and the bees can enjoy it too.

Oh have you all been busy! I'm  away for a week and have over 100 posts to catch up on !!!
While looking saw a few mentioned     " blue for you"  hope everyone with this has given it plenty of room as in March cut mine hard back 12" high ( from four foot) , this is it today with open blooms around the base and a huge amount getting ready. Excuse the Aquilegia.

As promised @Marlorena here is the first bloom of "Sheila's Scented " actually it is a little bigger than last years blooms.
