This beautiful rose bush in full bloom was in the garden of a hotel we stayed in last night (much milder climate than mine, near the coast). So lovely to see something other than a hybrid tea grown here. I have difficulty smelling most roses, but this was divine! I thought it may be Mme. Issac Pereire. @Marlorena or anyone else could you please ID it for me? Many thanks...

@Nollie I would say not, ...it doesn't look like a Bourbon rose, more like a Gallica.. the foliage and bloom form don't look like 'Mme I P'.. which has much larger quartered blooms..
...there are some 300, but if I had to guess then 'Duc de Guiche' would be one to consider... it's very fragrant and very popular...
Marlorena the pictures of your roses in your garden are lovely, hopefully i can get mine like that one day. What is the orange rose in your last picture, its a beauty.
@Voyagerxp thanks so much.. and that's Lady of Shalott… one of the finest roses if you don't mind the colour... I think it's very suited to one of those hot dry borders many of us have..full of rich colours..
@Marlorena thank you, having looked again you are, of course, absolutely right it is not Mme IP. I now see what you mean about the bloom form especially. It does look very similar to Duc de Guiche. Is the latter a tricky one to grow? I’ve rather fallen in love with it, if it is indeed, it. I was previously thinking about getting about Mme IP because of its supposed scent and being a repeat bloomer. If you only had space for one, which one would you choose, for health, scent, form etc? Difficult question, I appreciate, as rose preferences are so personal.
