I’m trying not to complain, but Hubby is watching NZ Bake-off and I can’t bear the accent of those north island New Zealanders! Gritting my teeth, here.
On the other hand, at least he is awake. He’s been having trouble with his eyelids all day. 😴. Still has taste bud problems.
that made me titter as I'm sure most folk over here think Ozzy and Kiwi accents all sound pretty much the same no matter from which part of both countries the person originates. Much as we do with usa and Canada.
Tragic about Notre Dame, at least the walls and towers are safe and a lot of the art had already been removed because of the restoration work.
Back from shopping and the huge DIY place to look at flooring for the Norfolk cottage's kitchen. We'll have a look when we go to Norfolk too. They had some lovely wall tiles but I don't need any.
Back to the veg garden soon to finish the last raised bed and the herb bed.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I have actually been out there planting stuff! In a sleeveless t-shirt no less! Cleared, weeded and mulched a 7.5 x 2.5 bed - OH too lazy to cut two planks to make 1.2 wide beds so I've decided it will become a bed for permanent plants - artichokes and asparagus - and soft fruit and we can put a cage round it. It is now home to two blackberries, a raspberry patch, a purple gooseberry, several assorted black and redcurrants, a fig, 3 globe artichokes and 2 surviving asparagus. Just need to get some strawberries in then mulch with chippings from the garden and build the cage.
Also planted 36 chitted potatoes and am now waiting for OH to clear the rest of that bed for the other 36 and the onion sets. His fault for asking me to leave space for earthing up this year. Need to find a home for beetroot and brassica plugs too........
What sort of flooring do you fancy BL?
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Was thinking of vinyl clic type or adhesive to look like wooden planks. Easy clean, cheaper and easier to do than wood (budget running out so will be DIY) and warmer than tiles. The floor is already tiled, but pretty smooth, dark mottled brown, I don't like it. There were some nice ones in Leroy Merlin.
Where is everyone this evening?
We finished the raised beds, just got the bark chippings to put round them, will need quite a lot.

I was taught that the way to recognise a NZ accent is to listen for words like 7 (“siven”)
All our frosts over for a while, so my windowsills are having a clear out, and the GH is filling up 😀.
Lovely having both the chicklets home .....we have spent the last 3 evenings binge watching Big Little Lies ......bit behind the curve here ☺️. 2 more days in the office - looking forward to the looooong weekend 🐣
It's getting there. I've not moved any hostas from the tunnel as we've had a couple of chilly nights but I reckon I need to have them moved by the end of the month. Once things ( agapanthus and grasses ) start to grow,I'll post some photos. Not a huge amount to see as yet. Have you got your compost/mulch all moved yet?

As I only work Thurs and Sun: after tomorrow, I've got a week off.
