Not surprising Fidget.  Big warm hugs.

Congrats Pdoc.  Hosta - Sunday in the garden with hubby will compensate.

Well done Busy-Lizzie!  That's a great transformation.   Cold and grey here so far.  Not as forecast so I'm pottering indoors till it warms up a bit.  Labeling and stashing latest marmalade and chili jam sessions and then re-organising cupboards in the annex.

Later on will be finishing garage sorting and planting more roses and maybe a clem or two.  Hard work cos there are large, honey coloured stones lurking at two spades' depth and a clay pan beneath so I have to go deep to shift the stones and break up the pan.  Muscles today!

    Have fun everyone..

BL that is beautiful! What an amazing transformation. I thought you said it was just a small part of your vegetable garden?! An incredible amount of work, especially considering you've been travelling, doing DIY and doing emergency childcare too. Wow.

Not much gardening for me today. I have a date to go for a sunny walk along the Southbank with Trill. Looking forward to it :). Bow's at school, as she has been all holiday, doing GCSE revision. A decision has been made about which junior college place to take up, but she's living with it for a couple of days before publicly committing  to it, to make sure there are no regrets.

It does sound like a depressing day, FB. I hope some peace can be found.

All power to your elbow, Obxx. I think we're due some pictures of your garden progress soon ;)

    Morning all!

Hugs to Fidget.  Stories like that make you appreciate being alive.

BL, your veg garden is an inspiration!  And so is your enthusiasm, Obelixx.  You might need to pace yourself with those stones and clay...

Have a good day all.   :)

Fidget, very sorry to hear your story. It’s hard to accept some things.

We’re both very tired after our day in Canberra visiting the Oncologist, but feel much more relaxed after listening to him. He seems quite hopeful that the chemotherapy will do the trick for Hubby. Time to get a grip and think positive.

What a dreadful day, Fidget, more hugs from me.

@LG that is a bit less than half the plot. I'll put weed surpressant fabric on the rest and leave it. It's just too much and the 4 children left home years ago.

I'm edging the upper middle bed having weeded it.

Home from work and not in for another 7 days. It's like being on holiday.

Thanks everyone. I spent most of today rearranging the greenhouse and polytunnel, chucking some stuff outside to fend for itself, and soaking everything as we are going away for a couple of days.  The Asparagus is up.  Very slender (sown from seed last year) but looking tender. I must put down some slug pubs.
I also squashed another half dozen lily beetles.

    Evening all.
Glad you have some positive feedback @Pat E - hope that will give you both a bit of a boost through the hard times.
That is very tragic and sad for your friend @fidgetbones - it’s hard enough to cope with a bereavement without ‘what if’s’ playing on your mind.
I have a week off now - hurray! Don’t forget to have a chill, in between all projects, gardening and Easter stuff everyone (note to self there).

Just settling down for Beechgrove 😍

Really encouraging news Pat - makes it easier to grind through the treatment if you have positive thoughts.  Rooting for you both 🤗🤗🤗

Off for our family get together tomorrow - looking forward to some time outside.

Hope everyone has a good Easter break at least it looks like the weather will be warm for us all. We are busy preparing for all the troops to come to us on Sunday to help celebrate OH's aunt passing the 80 milestone a few days ago. Mix of indoor & out door jobs, you know how it is even the spare room (which no-one will see) has to be done.  One thing I hadn't reckoned on was spending the hour & a half before dinner watering the whole garden, we have not had any substantive rain here for over 2 weeks & in spite of mulching the wind has dried everything out.  Might not get on here much in next few days.
