Ive got lots of little ones this year which I'm growing on in pots.

I go to Morrisons every Friday and always have a good check of their clematis. That is where I got Frankie from.

I have seen there: Etoile Violette, Justa, Polish Spirit, Madame Julia Correvan, Nellie Moser, Margaret Hunt, The President, HF Young, Daniel Deronda, Star of India, Guernsey Cream, Mermaid, Hagley Hybrid, Carnaby, Cirrhosa Wisley Cream, Winter beauty, Alpina Frankie, Alionushka and several others that I can't remember the names of.

It was the first time I've seen Alionushka or Alpina Frankie.

I don't know why I didn't just put it in the trolley - I've never had competition there before. I'll never make that mistake again!

That's a great selection of clematis they should give a wonderful show next spring and summer when they're all bigger @Mr. Vine Eye.
I will keep an eye out for  clematis Alpina Frankie when I next pop in.
I know supermarket plants often get a bad review on here due to neglect, lack of water. I have to applaud my local Morrison's for there great plant selection and care, they do have 2 older knowledgeable staff though, who between them staff the outside garden section bit all week.

Oh I don't have all of those! They're just the ones that I've seen at morrisons.

The ones I've got are The President, Carnaby, Nellie Moser, Sunset, Justa, Etoile Violette, Comtesse Du Bouchaud, Frankie and Madame Julia Correvan.

Some from Morrisons and some from Aldi.

Yes I love Morrisons for their plants, ours has an outdoor garden centre in an old trolley park, they have a good selection of seasonal plants and at very reasonable prices.

Only seen Madam Julia Correvan once at Morrisons and that was when I bought it. That one I did snatch up straight away as I knew it was one that I wanted to grow with some roses and £1.79 is a steal!

I keep looking out for more, even though Im not entirely sure where all the ones that I've got are going to go! But at that price I was thinking, even grown as annuals they're good value, and it gives me a chance to test them out in their pots before I select the keepers and plant them in their final positions.

Morry's have also had Triternata rubromarginata in the past so look out, for a feast of almond marzipan scented flowers :)

I shopped there recently but did not dare lok. I have too many in pots that need growing on sand not sure where to put them either.
I really enjoy looking at this thread, and everybodys clematis and combinations.

We have a couple of flowers again on Lansdowne Gem and Freckles.
I know they do get a few non winter ones,  but it seems a bit early. hey ho still enjoy them.

Really like the Omishiro and Westerplatte combination of Yviestevie.

Does anyone have a knack or suggestions of how to grow Lambton Park?
I think I have just killed the second one. It is in good gritty compost in a pot suitable for the size ( not over potted).
I did not cut the old stems until I saw new green coming. Then it barfed...
Maybe I should concentrate on the others.

Having one die is one things - and do look out for Lazarus clems.  Can't tell you how many I've had that disappear for a year or two and then pop up again, long after the label is gone.

Treating one as an annual is criminal, like people who abandon Xmas pet purchases.........   Find them a good home!!
