My Hagley Hybrid is doing well, was only bought in May.

Bit scrawny at the base but flowering up top.

Ours got nobbled by the slugs; hopefully it'll try again next year!
OTOH my Silver Moon, after I built a copper wire fence around it in desperation, seems to have done well out of slug pruning - now 6ft and lots of shoots, but only the one flower so far

Thank you for the info @bullfinch sounds like your clematis is very happy where it is. Mine is also in its second year, and actually now I can see two flower buds, so not all hope is lost 😊
Kate is a lovely name by the way 😊😊
    Surrey
  • Just been to Morrisons for some "spitfire burning gold" (beer) - which they didn't have  :'(
What I did get though, was a "Samaritan jo" and an "acropolis" for £4.50 each :)

Clematis 'Duchess of Albany'... a Texensis type...

    East Anglia, England
  • A wet & gloomy day here in Lancashire. However, 'Golden Tiara' is like a beacon at the bottom of the garden. Bought from Hawthorn's three years ago, it has been a great performer.

On the other hand, 'Bill Mackenzie' is having a quiet year. There are a few flowers emerging now, but it seems to have been putting most of its effort into growth (which is profuse) - it's still a young plant.

Can anyone recommend any other Tanguticas? I think they're great value at this time of year.

@Canary27, a friend of mine has one called "Anita" (as that's her name !). Very pretty.
