Hello folks  :) we’re back from the coast  :). It was overcast to start with but the sun came out in the afternoon. There’s a spring tide at the moment and the tide was way way out exposing all the rock pools and there was a class of children exploring with their teachers ... lovely to see 😊
We called at the wonderfully named butcher Icarus Hines and bought a beef rib joint as a special treat as MIL and get recently widowed brother will be visiting for the day. Roast beef and yorkshires followed by rhubarb crumble will have to do for them.

We had a stroll on the pier and along the prom to do some serious people and dog watching, then very good fish and chips and ginger beer at Galton Blakiston’s cafe ... another stroll and then the homeward journey. So lovely to see the hawthorn hedges really greening up.

Now we have our feet up ... there’s some butternut squash and sage soup in the fridge ... bug we’re not hungry ... yet 😉

@LG_, why would anyone eat hostas when there's plenty of proper, tasty veg available.

Apparently Japanese women have very few menopausal symptoms or problems. It's probably the soy, but maybe it's the hostas!

Finished grouting the kitchen tiles this morning.

Then took OH to lunch here, really good. https://www.theobaldsrestaurant.co.uk/ It was a belated birthday treat as I couldn't be with him on his birthday in Feb as I was with very pregnant daughter.

This afternoon I started planting up the borders I'd cleared and dug. I'm 4 plants short, means a trip to the GC tomorrow :D

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
