It’s very overcast ... I might have to switch the lights on ... I’ll just go out and see whether the hedgehogs ate their supper ... yes they did, and drank quite a lot of water too. All topped up ready for this evening.

    Morning all.

I was logged out too yesterday.

It rained here in the night. Looks like the warm sunny weather is over for a bit. Must carry on with rose pruning and I think I'll clean a cold frame and sow broad beans in pots to plant out later. I may do a small bit of veg garden despite having said I'll give it up now that we go away so much and I'm trying to sell the house. Can't do without fresh broad beans, juicy and tender not hard and dry. I wonder if you can do no dig gardening when there is clay underneath? Can't have raised beds here, I found they get too dry in summer unless you water them a lot. Like having large pots.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Morning you lot 👋🏻

Only just woken up ....I love weekends 😊

Not a beautiful day out there, but forecast is fine so I’m heading out there for some more border tidying.  Big push today and I will be halfway there.  Aim is to finish by end of March, so think I’m on track 😇

    But first.....one more ☕️

Lizzie - Charles Dowding (the guru) reckons you can do no dig on any soil 😁

...there’s a section on clay in here

Ok @punkdoc ((hugs)) we’ll stay home alone with you ... no probs 😊 Mind you behave yourself ... I can be quite severe and @Fairygirl can be quite stern with that wand of hers ... 😉

Yes Pdoc - no taking to the solitary boozing!   Company on here instead.

It's OK here so far - bits of sun, bits of cloud, bits of rain judging by wet pussycat cuddle this morning.  I've been busy in the kitchen making a large leek and pea frittata to have for several lunches and a huge red salad ditto and finishing off the blood orange and chili marmalade which I decided needed a lift - extra peppers and chilies and pectin.  Only a dozen pips in a kilo of oranges which aren't enough to set anything.

Not watching athletics.  I'd rather watch paint dry.   OH is ironing while watching boring golf and then after lunch he's on a mega clean downstairs while I tackle those green and turquoise walls.   Looking a lot lighter and brighter in there already.  Should have it all done by the end of next week - outings on Monday and Tuesday so no painting then.

BL - good luck with your broad beans.  I didn't plant any last year but will this year tho I find the frozen ones in Picard are very good.   They even have them skinned.

Morning all. Must do some bits outside before the rain comes later today. Excited to see some frog spawn this morning so hopefully more will appear in the next few days.
There might be Welsh Cakes on offer later or tomorrow- let you know!

doc - we'll try and cheer you up a bit. I made a brilliant joke on a thread right now. Honest.  I won't prod you too hard with the wand if I can't hear you laughing from here ;)
Rain's back on here and it's not too warm with the breeze as well, so other than sticking my new little plants out in a sheltered spot, it's indoor stuff for me. Got my paint so you can come and watch it if you like Obelixx  ;)
Glad yours is going ok too though.
BL- I'd agree with chicky's post - you can just put loads of stuff down on clay without any problem. We have hefty clay here and it doesn't take too long to get it in decent order. Main difference would be that our ground possibly stays damper in summer than yours does. Manure will help retain the moisture on your ground. How about a low bed for your beans - a plank high or similar, so that you can put a good load of manure etc down? If you did it each winter it would be good by this time of year.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
