    ...

we WILL be detached. ... We won't have the hassle of neighbours sounding or feeling so close.

It has its plusses and minuses.
We are detached and the peace and quiet is still  to this date, much treasured and will never be taken for granted.
You find ways to work around things disposed of, little storage, etc. we went from a medium garden to a small garden but the stuff we've packed into it brings us huge joy and happiness. Nothing is taken for granted. We even had to buy a couple of smaller items of furniture but we have managed and are now well used to what we now have.
Give yourself a good twelve months to readjust and I hope you end up like us, very contented and very happy.

    And yes, I'm awake, again......

Going a bit deaf has its  compensations.    you can't hear the neighbours.

It's true, going deaf does improve your sleep 😢

  • It might improve my sleep, but I imagine it would frustrate my marriage!! And other relationships.

Being deaf hasn't helped me unfortunately,  maybe because of the tinnitus which means I have constant noise, but it does help with noisy neighbours. 🙂 And yes the hubby often has to say something twice 🙄 which irritates us both, but you would think by now he would realise shouting from another room won't work!😆
  • We hubbies, are often a tad forgetful - such as several times a day.

Pa was deaf on one side … he turned down the chance of a hearing aid … he said he could then choose whether he could hear Ma or not 😉

I pull mine out if I  don't  want to hear something.  It's  a noisy world.
Pulled them out while the rugby  was  on yesterday.
