A bit of leaf collecting, surveying and dead heading.  There’s a fair bit of tidy up I’m avoiding!

Laid the upturned turf I’d dug up last week, and disturbed two toads!  🙁

Successfully moved them over to the turf stack at the back of the garden via spade 👍

Quickly mowed half the lawn with an uncharged battery before it died, sun had disappeared anyway 🙂

After a nice lunch out with friends and a very large glass of Pinot (sad mistake, I don't know what came over me!) all I was capable of doing was refilling the bird feeders and pulling up a few weeds, after which I thought I was safer indoors!!

Cut a load of wood with chain saw this morning for 🔥
O/H cut asparagus down at home and I did a bit of dead heading and dug some self seeded plants up in the wrong place

Am going to have to check tomorrow that all the tender plants I want to keep are put in the greenhouse , as it gives the chance of frost next week here.

Purplerallim , I’ve also put a few plants in g/h for over wintering
Can’t make my mind up whether to “bubble rap “ g/h or not

Got all the greenhouse floor swept, and mouldy bits out. While moving tubs found the frog that has been in there all summer.

It's a big one now. Must have eaten well.😁
I don't bubble wrap my greenhouse @GWRS ,the plants either survive or not, but did manage to keep fuchsia,  gazania, and white geranium going from last year. Also overwinter a clematis in there.

Cleaned out the pond ( I always bring the fish in for winter ) and in the process found a dead magpie. Looks like a youngster what's left of it

OH dug up an old rose for me which we binned. Just got to dig out and replace the soil ready for the new rose. I also dug up some perennials that were struggling and potted them up pending a decision as to where to replant them. One is a rather special Russian Sage, bright blue flower spikes and big leaves like a foxglove. It was beginning to make a land grab towards the lawn so I took fright!  Not sure what to do with it now though, although the bees loved it.
