Beautiful weekend here, and warm enough (just about) to melt the overnight frosts. So I've been mulching my beds, a slow job because there are so many spring bulbs pushing through and I don't want to smother them. Trying mushroom compost this year (I know it's alkaline, so I'm not using it near lime-hating plants).
I bit on some hard pork crackling in the autumn and cracked two teeth, directly opposite each other so I had the top one crowned in November and the bottom one yesterday. A very expensive few minutes of pleasure!!
Not exactly gardening but I watered some plants and bulbs I have in pots under cover of the verandahs. Checked the plant pots and all 15 of my narcissi varieties (not undercover) are through. Some yellow crocii have just burst into flower, as have the first narcissi in the long border. I then sat, cat on knee, and enjoyed the sun. We are lucky to live in such a mild climate.
Martina Franca, Puglia, southern Italy Love living in Italy but a Loiner at heart
I gave the day over to walking my dog on a beach in glorious weather then made a beef and mushroom curry in the slow cooker to box up and put in the freezer. Today is so boring, flat, and grey but with no wind or rain.
