I think the eggs are a pale yellowish colour @Lizzie27, so perhaps they were snail or slug eggs.
I know you feel, my back garden looks so different now, but at the same time l almost feel like there's more of an air flow through the garden now.
I still have a couple more roots to get out that l couldn't get to earlier in the year, at least after all this rain it should be a bit easier.

Yesterday I happened  to check some daff bulbs which haven't been planted out. Half of them were sprouting so shoved them in the ground where there was a gap. Should be interesting to see if the come up next spring.

@AnniD, I'm finding that my mini mattock from Screwfix is brilliant for hacking the roots out.

Managed to get most of the remaining stumps out this morning before it rained so that's a huge job almost finished. A big relief!

I sowed some globe artichoke and spinach seeds then fell asleep in the sunlounger so hardly a productive day - always tomorrow. Woke up and watered my plants. There was some rain due next week but it has suddenly disappeared from the forecast - damn!

Hope to achieve more tomorrow  :)

Tied some of the blackberries up for next year and mulched one of the deciduous Azaleas with leaves.

  • No gardening yesterday.
Had an appointment in Truro at the Eye Clinic in the morning. Had anesthetic eye drops plus pupil widening drops for a scan. Could barely see again until early evening, I had booked a hospital car for transport, really pleased I did as it was sunny when I came out of the hospital and it was quite painful to my eyes. I would have really struggled to drive.
Not much hope of doing any gardening today as a storm is on its way, and the wind is already winding up. My nearest beach has just opened to winter dog walkers so I am going to take my dog for a celebratory walk before the heavens open. He doesn't get  muddy on the beach like he does on woodland walks, he only has short stumpy legs so has a rather low-slung undercarriage!

Hope your eyesight will be ok @Joyce Goldenlily and that you enjoy your beach walk.

I got my OH to help me take a buddliea down to a stump this morning. One green bin full, good job they get collected tomorrow. Not sure how I'm going to get the stump out, it's in a sleeper bed in front of a wall.
