The same goes for me. I pruned the roses by roughly a third and the buddleias by half today. In the late winter, I'll prune them more aggressively. There's also a lot of weeding.
Watered the greenhouse, picked 4 cucumbers, (must look up reciped for using cucumbers) and dead-headed some dahlias. Have started picking the late apples, one each day for lunch, before the wasps, slugs, and birds get them. Not quite ripe so a bit sharp. Late-sown French Beans are almost ready for a 2nd picking, they are growing really well.
Planted some new spring-flowering bulbs and brought out some of the previous years' in pots from the garage to refresh the compost and split and re-plant them where necessary. A few losses but some pleasant surprises where some bulbs have significantly multiplied, eg tulip Cherry Delight. Keeping an eye on seeds I have sown and will soon need to pot on coleus cuttings I took a short while ago. OH has sown broad beans and San Marzano tomatoes are still ripening in the veg beds.
Martina Franca, Puglia, southern Italy Love living in Italy but a Loiner at heart
No gardening today methinks. It is dark, overcast, blowing a hooley and chucking it down. No excuse for not doing some house cleaning, which I hate. Did brush down the wooden beams in the snug and kitchen, as well as the ceilings throughout downstairs yesterday, lots of spiders and cobweb drapes.

Just booked to see Adam Frost doing a talk & promoting his book 📕 , does that count as gardening?
