Planted my home sown cosmos, snapdragons, dahlias into pots. We have a village nursery, treated myself to a heuchera, the most incredible brilliant blue salvia, which has leaves like , Brunnera jack frost,a verbena bonariensis, bright mauve osteospermum
  • It appears that my assault last year on next door's ivy empire has worked.

Hot day to be gardening but I've been busy. Repaired the mower and cut the lawn, all the grass went into the compost along with an entire wheelie bin of nettles from the neighbours (that bin will be absolutely raging hot in a couple of days). Watered the potted tomatoes, Bananas, gunneras, bagged potatoes and peas. Tidied up the cardoons (again), cut back all the pulmonaria which have not terrible mildew now. Trimmed the hellebores. Cleared all the tulips. Sat and ate ice-cream and had a cold cider 😀

After a 7 hour stint at the Allotment yesterday,  all I've done today is cut the grass front and back.

What a good idea @Wilderbeast - you've just reminded me that I'd ordered some icecreams with SM delivery last Thursday!  Now contentedly licking a Magnum.

I did do some light gardening earlier, just deadheading, weeding and watering. Recovering from a shoulder steroid jab I had yesterday.

Up early today. Planted out 4 tall sunflowers and 4 small bush type sunflowers. Did quite a bit of hoeing as weeds as getting out of hand. Turned a bin of finished compost putting half on top of another bin of finished and adding the remaining to another working bin, I know sounds daft but I've gained an empty bin to start a new pile now. Took the temp of the 2 working bins 73°c and 85°c scorching 😥😥
