Sorry to hear you hands are bad @Nanny Beach hope they feel better soon.

Spent a few hours at the allotment laid down cardboard and covered with bark to create a small path, started to assemble new cloches and get them onto the plot now the winds died down then rain stopped play. Hope to go back tomorrow and carry on.

I planted  broad bean seeds in pots in the polytunnel, and put crushed egg shells around the lilies that are up, and the delphiniums. I also filled a couple of slug pubs up.

After six months in “Plant Hospital”
https://forum.gardenersworld.com/discussion/1021816/plant-hospital/p1, I dug up and potted two roses to the front garden.  Put in general compost with potting grit.

Both roses look so much better, no sign of black spot  and very green and leafy.

    Bay hasn’t recovered yet.

Well that's the greenhouse ready.Nice clean membrane down, glass washed. Now just have to wait for plants to get big enough to go in. While doing this found a lovely little frog under a tub so made sure it was ok in one of the tubs while I was moving things. It can stay as look after the slugs, maybe that's why I found so few..... 🙂
  • That all looks well organized purple - ready to fill now.
We attacked the driveway today with old fork in hand to yank out the tiniest of weeds.  I also pruned one or two of the ivy geraniums, so let's hope the cold weather doesn't return now.  The ivy geraniums all had new shoots growing on the ends of the old shoots - so now they will have to start shooting again (let's hope).
Also sorted out my first batch of young plants ready to sell at the gateway.  I had grown these plants over the winter from Autumn seeds.

Thanks @Guernsey Donkey2 I do  seem to be ahead this year. This afternoon been helping hubby making the raised veg beds, he is doing a great job and the 6×4 and 2×6 foot beds are made. Just the painting of the outside and lining to do tomorrow, while he makes the last small one 4×2.

I checked the slug pubs. Not a bad haul of little slimers, and a couple of snails too.

Went to the garden centre, they didn't have what l was looking for, but l bought a purple pulsatilla instead. It's amazing how many times something like that happens ! Forked over all the beds, dug out a dianthus that looked pretty sick. Have found a couple of plants in the coldframe that can replace it.  OH cut the lawn front and back, so it doesn't look too bad at the moment.  Loads of bees around the clumps of pulmonaria Blue Ensign.
