Allotment: Lightly dug over some of the area for my Brussels sprouts and added in some chicken pellets will do the rest tomorrow and get them planted, built another bay onto my compost bins as others are all full, opened up the polly tunnel tied in the toms and cucumber's, harvested last of early broad beans pulled out old plants and composted.

Returned this evening to shut up and water in the tunnel.

Gawd'struth, the only good thing about this weather is that it's very easy to dig holes.
Moved the rose from one area to another, roots hadn't grown all that much as it's only been in a couple of months, but there were quite a few fine roots to be going on with. Dug out pulmonaria "Blue Ensign", spilt and potted up, also lifted and potted a trifolium rubens. Have a large clump of dianthus to do something with, dug it out the other day and it's just been sitting in a trug ever since. Think it may be a cuttings job, don't know how successful l'll be dividing it. OH has been in and out trying to finish cutting the box hedge in the front garden, heaven knows when the back garden will get done at this rate!
Was going to go back out, but good heavens, it's raining yet again . That was unexpected 🙄.
Oh well, cup of tea and a currant bun it is then.........

Did manage to get out this morning and continue with a week delayed job of planting.  Put in three trays of bedding plants,  dalias and some grown on ganzia . Rescued the sweet peas and the rose after the rain hammered them. Saved the delphiniums from breaking under their own weight. Tied up some toms as the rain has certainly grown them on.

I've been in and out like a yo-yo today, it's so frustrating. Managed to sweep and tidy the courtyard but that's about it. Rearranged some of the pots I moved yesterday. £60 quids worth of sunflower seeds arrived - I ordered twice in error, but as the goldfinches seem to have multiplied overnight, I doubt that lot will last long!

Managed to find enough pottering to spend an hour in the Greenhouse, it was dry the whole time, soon as I stepped out the rain came again.

I finally cleared out the area behind the garage where the oil tank is.

Planted some yellow loostrife. Centranthus ruber, a geranium and some other odds and sods grown from seed.

Dog thought she had had a new dog pit so I made a bamboo barrier!

Planted "Happy Ruby Anniversary" rose in back garden.  Have another one to plant in front garden, but although it's stayed dry, it's now turned quite windy 🙄 so that will have to wait. Took some cuttings from dianthus "Moulin  Rouge" that l dug up the other day. All the flowers are in a vase - lovely perfume. Have a hosta to pot up for MIL, but tea break first !
