added 20 bags of top soil to a new bed ....14 x 4 foot......where I have just removed Himalayan Honeysuckle.

The website site assured me the bushes would attract birds.

Im single with all my own teeth and house trained.

Just one fat pigeon hanging upside down in 5 years eating the berries !!

Also added 40 more red onions where some of the originals had not taken or been removed......probably by the pigeon !!
Everyone is just trying to be Happy.....So lets help Them.
  • Not outside, but does putting together with my husband ( alright handing him the bits and holding it) a cold frame that he bought me for my birthday today count?😁

    @purplerallim , Happy Birthday 🎂

Got the chainsaw out and cut up loads of wood 🪵 for fire 🔥
Hoping to go to allotment tomorrow
  • Not as such,  but we did go to a GC, got some more spring bulbs (in pots) to fill in some gaps. Good to get out for a change.

I moved my cold frame to a new spot, cleaned the glass in the sides and put polycarbonate in the lids. It's now further away from next door's children and their footballs, where I'd more-or-less given up using it. I've raised it up on one of those wooden raised bed kits to give it a bit more height. I want to use it for overwintering things in pots that are too tall for just the frame.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
  • I only came in from  the garden as it was dark 🤣🤣 I didn't even realise I was loosing light as I was that engrossed in what I was doing. I have tidied up my flower beds and got rid of weeds. Sprinkled FB&B and mulched my Rose's with some home made compost. I had some of my compost left over so I popped it onto where my oriental poppies will come through. I just have two beds to tidy up, which I will probably do tomorrow.
  • Spent whole day doing things in garden.  Cut the Polka rasps back to ground, pressure-washed the big greenhouse inside and out to remove algae film from the glass and any overwintering pests in the channels.  Did the same to the potting shed polycarb roof and windows to get max. light for when I start sowing seeds, did some general weeding, tidying and pruned several clematis.  Tired but happy. :)
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

You guys have done loads already!
I am hoping it will be dry on my day off in the week as can’t wait to get started. I need to buy some seed compost and GCs are closed here so might need to splash out on SM prices. Will only need one bag though and I have plenty of my own for potting-on.

My garden and I live in South Wales.
  • I seeded echinacea, dahlia, foxglove, tomatoes, gave the chilli plants their own pot, planted two alliums with a height up to 2.5 metres to give garden height since our neighbour decided to cut down his trees, and tidied pots and veggie beds from winter veggies. Can’t wait for Spring. So much to do.

    I my garden.
