Today I repotted a bay tree I’ve had for four years. I love how much it’s grown in that time.

I’m not sure if I’ll pop it in the ground at some point. The new garden is heavy clay so I’m not sure if it will like it.

I also repotted a few other plants I’d brought with me to the new house as they were pot bound.

Started tackling the snowberry infestation coming from next door and taking over my hedge. Will see how I’m control I can become before asking next door if it can be removed (they have nothing else in the garden other than a lawn).

Got four bags of bark coming in the next few days so I’m looking forward to putting that down in the front border after I removed the ton of gravel and the membrane that was here when we moved in.

I must say I’m enjoying the pottering of an evening. Going from a back yard to a front and back garden is a delight even with the issues like the snowberry and the trunks left in the ground.

Planted out,  a lot of the plants grown from the free seeds in GW mag. Some in back some in front,  not much space so some are a bit crammed in.  They will have to take their chances.
Quick trip to Allotment later,  mostly just picked produce.

Courgettes already!! Mine are only just coming into flower.

Potted-on some Cosmos and Salvia and added ingredients to my compost bins today. Somebody put too many grass clippings in the mix so I have had to tear up bits of cardboard today to balance it out.

Just been out to finish watering pots and check on the wildlife - tadpoles have legs now, newts are active and Mrs Hedgehog has fresh water for the night.

My garden and I live in South Wales.

Moved a Chamaerops humilis from the back of a perennial bed into my tropical area, it got completely swamped previously so it's now right to the front of the area.

Mixed in more grass to the compost and collected another wheelie bin load from Dow the street.

After four weeks of no rain we’ve had 36 hours of it so no gardening has been done during that time.

My bags of bark have arrived for the front garden and it makes sense to put it down on wet soil so I will wait for it to stop and then oh I go (hopefully later today according to the forecast).

Also got a few grasses to plant in the border to provide a bit more colour and movement when the perennials die back in the colder months.

A few of the plants that I inherited have snapped in the rain so I’ll also tidy those up.

Having my second jab this afternoon so hopefully won’t feel too groggy tomorrow and I can get out then too.
