I was planning to go out and cut down some of the perennials today but its absolutely throwing down rain so it's not going to happen. Maybe next weekend.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
  • Weeded the broccoli yesterday.  It's in a small "emergency bed" (we had builders!) bounded on two sides by patio and path, so I didn't have to tread on the soil... which wouldn't have been a good idea   :|
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Planted a bare root Crab Apple tree and then tidied up a few bots and bobs. What I really need is a to-do list, so that might be a plan for tomorrow!
I’ve no idea what I’m doing.
  • Not a chance today,  ground is still saturated  & that icy wind would cut you in two. I think the expression is  it's a lazy wind, can't be bothered to go round so it goes straight through.  😄

Gentle and constant snow today

My snowdrops started coming out last week as well, should be dozens more to come

I do love snowdrops. No gardening for me today although I did give daughter one wicker basket of crocuses 'George' and a bright yellow pot of Tete-n-Tete daffs just about to bloom. Thought they may cheer her up for her new garden.

Does buying some plants and seeds online count as gardening ;)

I did actually venture out into the frozen wastes and started removing a bush that I've decided doesn't do enough. No idea what it is but not enough greenery, no flowers and when it sheds its puny little leaves, it becomes invisible. It doesn't help that the fence behind it is on its last legs. It has had its time.

  • Buying plants etc. is definitely gardening especially in this weather.

Id go further than that and say that just thinking about buying plants counts 🤣🤣 looking outside and I know I won't be doing any gardening today, white out here
