Was awoken last night by a howling wind and battering against the window. It only lasted a minute so went back to sleep. This morning looked out to see tree branches all over, nextdoors foliage all over the garden,  a fence panel down , the hog house upside down and a very heavy pottery tub knocked over. 😱 Must have had a mini tornado!

    Sown some seeds
Also calendula Daisy May it grows to 8in
Tomatoes sweet million and cucumber la diva
  • I sowed some more sweet pea seeds along with Cosmos and Pansy seeds bought yesterday, hoping they will germinate, some of my seeds haven't come through and perhaps I was a little too early or I could put it down to lack of sunshine (too many wet or grey days here).

Was going to go to allotment this afternoon but it’s to windy and the site is a bit exposed ,  so finished pruning trees 🌲 & bushes in garden as it’s a bit more sheltered
Just got to decide what to do with all the prunings , shred or burn ?

Hawthorn bush hedges are greening up nicely and spring bulbs now all out , looking nice

That sounds quite a storm @purplerallim! Although it was very windy during the night we seem to have escaped any such damage.

I shred mine, keep in sacks, then use as a mulch in winter

Dead and dry I might burn but the rest usually goes to the council green waste bin

Yesterday I had some really windy weather I wasn’t expecting, but nothing as bad as that @purplerallim hope it’s not too much work to tidy up?

New fence on order @Tin pot , after putting up three new fence panels last weekend from the last storm. It was windy all day yesterday @Lizzie27 but not as bad as last night, and has been just as windy today. Am waiting to clear up at the weekend hopefully it will be calmer then.🙄

Purplerallim , sorry to hear about fence , it’s a pain

Tin Pot , decided to shred the thinner bits and cut the thicker branches up for drying / burning as we have a fire 🔥. I’ll use shredded stuff on paths at the allotment

  • Painted the outside doors and part of my summer house which I'm a bit concerned about.the rain has really knackered the wood! I have a huge clematis montana all over it .debating whether or not to get rid of it!in a good year it looks fantastic but last year it barely flowered and looks like twigs a lot of the year!
