My grump is after a lovely morning when I had to go into the Royal Free eye clinic. Not long home the sky's have blackened and now it's tipping it down. No chance of any gardening again today.
The weather has changed about 10 times already today here. Still better than last year though...

@KT53, l suspect l know the GC you are talking about (Glos).  I was in there last week meeting a friend for coffee and it was a mess then, thought they would have spent the weekend and overnights sorting it out by now. I expected them to shut it for a week when they first took over and blitz it in one go, but maybe that was too obvious!
You know the one AnniD.  Still a mess today.  The only positive I have noticed is that it looks like they will be carrying a wide range of powered garden equipment.  A Stihl stand is currently being set up along with Webb and others.

When somebody falls over why do people say they went 'head over heels'?  Isn't
that the way most people stand?

Very well ejacated here, well he is, but refused the place he’d won at the agricultural college!   Just wanted to be a farmer.

I was under the impression the expression is 'arse over appetite'. That's possibly a Cornish variation on the theme.

I had to get both rear springs replaced on my car last MOT. VERY expensive. Possibly as much to do with our private track as the local roads though.

I am lucky living where I am that the two closest garden centres to me are privately owned so all the staff know the plants and are very capable, courteous and helpful when asked. I suppose it helps that at one of them I have been going there for 40+ years! (now I feel old!).

The big chain GC about 15 miles from me do a very nice (and expensive) line in Italian leather shoes! What on earth is that to do with a GC? More of an 'experience' than a GC. They also have a small Lakel*nd store which is handy! And a delicatessen, more outdoor furniture than you could shake a stick at, good café with cakes etc and every type of 'gift' you would need. Their only saving grace is that they do stock books - some even on gardening!
