Same here ... but the little girl on the Cancer Research UK advert who says 'thank you for your donation' and blows us kisses is in real danger of making me break my vow, bless her ... I'll have to take some cash into one of their Charity Shops and put it in the collecting tin.
My guess is they pay advertising agencies to design their ads so that they have exactly that effect.  Maybe I'm just a curmudgeonly old biddy :).

Well, of course they do ... it’s their job, why would they do anything else? 😆. But at least the ad I’m talking about features real people who are recovering from cancer 👍

For anyone who feels in a giving mood, can I make a plea for MSF.

Of course you can.  My charity donation review time is coming up (end of financial year) so it's a very timely suggestion.

My philanthropy budget is generally maxed out on wildlife charities. I've been trying to get hold of the RSPB to give them more money though and I'm not getting a reply. I want to upgrade to the family membership package and there doesn't seem to be any easy way to do it. :/

How are you trying to contact them wild edges? Their HQ phone is supposed to be manned (sorry, personned :) ) from 9am to 5.15pm

Via email, I didn't fancy the usual robot call centre machine and waiting on hold stuff. I'm happy to wait a few days for a reply but I thought they'd be a bit quicker for a basic response. There's nothing I can find on their website about upgrading and my kid shredded the last magazine that came. :#

I have been giving to Care international for some years. For a long time I never got any pressure to increase or change but then 3-4 years ago the pestering started, I had to do the same as others & threaten to cut them off completely if they didn't stop. It did. I occasionally give to other charities, like Dove I mostly try to put cash in a collecting box rather than anything else. The ads that hack me off are the ones that "tell you" how much to give & then drone on about how your X pounds will do this that or the other, moral blackmail.  :s

For a long time now I only gave to the Salvation Army and the CPL but in the last ten years or so I have widened my net slightly to include Hounds for Heroes, the Glasgow City Mission (homeless etc), the local Greyhound Rescue, Scottish Air Ambulance and the local hospices. But I give on my terms only. I will not sign up for monthly donations.
PS. Forgot about donating to the football team in my old home town!!
An eclectic mix I know but I think I have covered most of the worthwhile (to me) ones.
I do tend to do spur of the moment donations online - especially if I have splashed out on a big purchase - ie new bathroom etc. I think to myself, what's another £xxx on top of what I've spent on myself. Or if something really nice happens in my life that makes me thankful - that also makes me donate. So I would say that I donate regularly but sporadically.

The RSPB replied to my email right after I posted that they hadn't. :D Don't all charities have to have explicit consent to contact you now by law?
