Bleedin' hoover vacuum cleaner broke again today. This time the plug caught fire. I've no idea what my missus is doing to it but I've fitted a more durable plug with a tighter cord clamp and more slack in the connections just in case. I don't think it can cope with the rigours of nesting behaviour

Out painting fences today and got fed up of neighbours dog barking and howling constantly for hours. Went round and rang the bell a couple of times but no one answered. Carried on painting and saw the daughter walking down the drive I politely asked her if she could do something about the dog barking. Her comment was, Nothing to do with me, not interested, can't do anything about it, and she walked off. Considering she was the only one in at the time I can't quite understand her reply to my request.
I believe you can report dog owners for that type of nuisance these days, not sure if it's the local council or the RSPCA? I would drop a polite note in their letterbox saying that if they don't take steps to keep their dog quiet, that is what you intend to do.
Environmental health deal with noise pollution problems. The RSPCA just take your number and pass it onto their marketing team who pester you with phonecalls asking for money until you threaten them with legal action if they don't stop.
