Hosta is that far west too Papi Jo, but always an hour behind us because most of France is east of the Greenwich meridian and France keeps central European time.

I'd rather have light evenings than light mornings.  Works better with my body clock.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Central European time means the same time from Brest to Košice, Slovakia,  two cities 1886 km apart! Unacceptable.

reason to be cheerful, the clocks go forward tonight. Bring on those lovely long light evenings.
I beg to disagree. In the West of France where I live we are actually West of the Greenwich meridian. Which means that for us summer time is 2 hours in advance of "real" time, i.e. solar time. Ridiculous. :p
ah well, we'll agree to disagree. Maybe take it with M. Macron?

Yes of course I have. I voted against the change of hours and in favour of keeping all year round the same time closest to "real" time i.e. GMT + 1.

Where the sun is in the sky at noon means nothing to me, nor does it affect me in any way. Having to switch the lights on an earlier costs me money and makes me miserable.
    Bring back Double Summer Time!!
If folk don't like it, take it to the Curmudgeonly thread.  :D

From the little I've read about the EU and scrapping the clock change, I thought it was going to be up to individual countries to implement the new system, or not, as they chose.  If that is the situation it could be entertaining trying to work out the time as you drove from country to country.
