I think research needs to be conducted to determine why a relatively civilised person turns into a pr *t, the minute they sit astride a bicycle. Perhaps they should ride side-saddle

Sad to say, there is at least an equal number of people who undergo the same transformation when they get behind the wheel of a car.  During the 20-odd years I used a bicycle (for transport, not recreation) I quickly learned to assume that all other road users were blind.

True. If someone dithers about passing when walking along the street, pedestrians engage in a do si do and smile. If it happens while they're driving, they become enraged.

With a bit of luck, yes.  Both were riding like idiots and would have deserved whatever damage they did to themselves.

With any luck you’re not in one of the caring professions. 😉

Whilst some folk may sometimes take stupid risks with their own and other people’s safety,  those that love them rarely deserve the trauma and sadness an accident to a family member can bring.

I’m not always perfect  so I’m glad I don’t always get what I deserve. 😊

My reason to be cheerful is an unexpected delivery of gorgeous flowers from a dear friend

I understand what you're saying Dove, but my tolerance of morons on bikes is at an all time low (I'm not saying that cyclist automatically means moron, but there are plenty round here who fit the description).  Coming home tonight we were held up by one who thought it was clever to ride down the middle of the road with the front wheel in the air.  At the same time another was going the other direction with both hands in pockets.

I feel your pain @KT53. The amount of money spent locally, creating a cycle path here, and do they use it? Do they b*****ks.  :|
Should really be on the other thread with that  :D
