@ImpatientGardener, funnily enough that one is the least spiky, and difficult to spike yourself on even if you tried, with its upright habit and day-glow warning colour! These columnar types benefit from a chop back every spring, encourages them to shoot up again with renewed vigour and colour, and the new growth is pretty soft.
