Thanks Chicky. Everyone is hoping for a cold change tonight. Much of Melbourne has been without power because of people using their air conditioners.😡 Apparentlythe system was very overloaded.

    Good morning all  :)

Hope you all cool down a bit soon Pat, and that the fire situation settles down quickly.

It’s not freezing here ... 2C and raining.

Burns night tonight ... everyone got their haggis ready?

Morning Dove. It’s Australia Day weekend here, so lots of gatherings and things happening all over the country. The aboriginal people want to change the date. They call it Invasion Day.😳

Morning all. Just watching the sky lighten as as sip my cuppa. I wonder what today will bring... have a good day all. Best wishes to Punkdoc’s wife - is it a day case? Hope she is back home and comfy very soon.

To be fair, they have a point.

I sat next to a Dutch woman on a flight to Amsterdam. who'd moved to Oz after the war, met an Italian guy there and married and had a family. She was bringing her son and DiL over to meet the Dutch family and she said to me, without a hint of irony " there are too many immigrants in Australia now" I felt like saying " The Aboriginal People have been saying that for a couple of hundred years.

Hi Hosta. Yes I can see both sides, however, there’s no way this country would have been left to their own control. Or should I say lack of control. Another nation would have moved in and they are possibly better with the brits rather than others I could think of.🥴

A perfectly valid point, but the fact remains "invasion" is what it was.

And now we have pool cover spam to flag on the ‘making the pond toddler proof’ thread.  :/
