A late 'Good morning all' .... I've been up and about but doing other things ... sorry you've had a bad night Hosta ... but at least it's not so frequent nowadays ((hugs))

    Oh yes, @Fairygirl ... enjoy :D

LG, hope Bow's concert goes well ... I don't know a lot of R Strauss but I remember hearing his Four Last Songs on the radio a good while back and enjoying them ... think they stuck in my memory 'cos they're Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter and were about him preparing for his old age and the end.

Aunty Rach ... hope they're not getting up to mischief now they've been 'sent to their rooms' :o

Morning all. Cold and grey again. Garden looks bleak. Another quiet day. Think I'll clean the bathroom and make the last cushion cover.

Looking forward to going to Norfolk. Hope to see the new Mary Queen of Scots film and Cedric has bought tickets for Guys and Dolls in Norwich.

Good luck to Bow, I'm sure it will be lovely.

Hello again. Errand no. 1 done (an hour's journey each way just to drop off a flute to be mended... musical kids are expensive and time consuming!). Just having a cuppa then it's on to the next.

Yes, Dove, they're playing the Four Last Songs, also Death and Transfiguration, with which Bow has fallen head over heels in love. Then an arrangement of excerpts from Gotterdammerung.

Let us know what you think of The Favourite, BL. I've heard such high praise from so many friends, I wonder if it can live up to it! When are you coming to Norfolk? (Sorry, I haven't read back very thoroughly).

Hope you can snooze in the sun today, Hosta. And AuntyR, your errant cat management made me laugh. Hope they've seen the error of their ways now.

I've just got back up. Went back to bed and slept for over an hour, most odd for me.
Cloudy today, but still 30C so a lazy day by the pool/ beachwalking is in store without too much worry about burning.

Oh LG what a coincidence :) ... I hope you like the Four Last Songs as much as I did ... now you’ve reminded me I must put them on my list of ‘possibles’ for my birthday at the end of the month in case anyone asks ...

Afternoon. Having a quiet day off - the ‘boys’ have settled so just doing some mocha muffins and wrapping my niece’s Birthday pressies for tomorrow. I have bought her a cookery book (cakes and biscuits for children) - which may be making a rod for my own back!

Evening all.  Been out at patchwork all day then shop and dinner.  Normal life resuming here too.   Hope your niece likes her present AR.   Hope the concert goes well LG.

How was your news received FG?

@Hazel 1, @Lyn, @1Runnybeak1 - if you read my posts carefully, you will see that I have never told Frank not to post his tales and nor have I told him to leave.   He posted to say he was feeling down and was considering leaving so I suggested he count his blessings which are many.  He didn't seem able to do that so I suggested he could apply some of his knowledge and experience of gardening to help others on these boards but it seems he can't do that either.

I still think it better to slip off quietly without making a song and dance altho a "Goodbye and thanks for all the fun and friendship" wouldn't go amiss either.    I too still wonder about Happy Marion and Clarington, come to that.

I expect Clarington just got too busy, new house to renovate, garden, wedding plans, work etc.

I finished the last cushion cover this afternoon. Having cleaned the bathroom so thoroughly perhaps I should start on another room. Wish it would warm up, don't like gardening near 0°. Can't even do some baking, on a diet, but I'll make a loaf of bread for OH tomorrow.
