I'm pretty sure he's one of the regulars @Valley Gardener, he's just been resprayed (makes him sound like a car). It did make me smile, the way he went one way & then the other. For some reason it put me in mind of The Golden Shot !
I remember the Golden Shot I think. Was that the one where they had to remember what was on the conveyor belt at the end? When you say "resprayed" what does that mean @AnniD? He certainly looks shiny as if he had just had a visit to the spike dresser.
The weather here is dry today, but not sure how wet the ground is after the constant torrential rain. I need to lift and divide some day lilies so that should make the digging out easier.
I enjoyed GW this week, and it's off to Adams garden next week, so looking forward to that. It is going back to one hour episodes soon, so not sure how they are going to fill it as we are coming to the end of the season. Monty has not convinced me to fill my garden with grasses, no matter how much they sway elegantly in the breeze. I don't like them, so I'm not having them 😀.
Time to get the wellies on and actually get out and do something, so enjoy your day and I hope the rain stays off for everyone.
@purplerain , l think you're thinking of The Generation Game, another classic of it's time . The Golden Shot was the one where people would ring in and guide a blindfolded cameraman towards a target with apples. He had a crossbow on the end of the camera and would fire it when instructed. They only had a limited amount of time - oh, the drama ! If they got through to the final, l seem to remember it was a cascade of coins if they hit the target. I remember Bob Monkhouse presented it, among others, and there was a ditzy blonde called Anne Aston, who used to pretend to have trouble adding up the scores. Different times!
When l say Hedgehog has been resprayed, l mean it looks as though someone has marked him again. If you look closely at the photos, along his right side there is a dark stripe. There are other dark markings along his spines, but they have been fading over the weeks, this one is fresh. It may be that he has just rubbed against something such as fence paint.
Hope your digging is easy, something tells me that mine might be more difficult !
I remember it now @AnniD. I was just thinking that nowadays if anyone came up with the idea of blindfolding a contestant, then trusting the audience with where to aim a crossbow in a TV studio they would be sacked 😀. I used to like Take Your Pick and the yes no interlude with Michael Miles (showing my age).
As I thought, it was easy to lift and divide the day lily and I hope the divisions take, as I like the apricot tone of the flower. I completely dug out a yellow one as I don't like the colour, then divided a deep crimson sidalcea. It's a lovely plant but quite fleeting although the pale pink ones seem to flower much longer.
I saw your photos on the garden gallery and your garden is just stunning for this time of the year. Well done!
I did read the earlier posts @Fran IOM and @Valley Gardener but I am frightened of losing this post if I go back a page to refresh my memory. Enjoy Peaky Blinders Fran and you too @Valley Gardener.
Good Morning all, Haven't posted for a couple of days as the weather has just been like winter. Even the birds have had to do without their food supply. Beautiful cat there @AnniD. Think my cat would have eaten it. Obviously not to that cat's taste. Hopefully the weather will improve by this afternoon and I can get back to cutting hedges.
Hi all, @AnniD It took me longer than a while to spot that!! If this weather continues there won't be much to report at all although this afternoon was sunny and not so windy but due to other commitments I was too late to do anything other than feed the birds. Yesterday I could hardly stand up in the gale force wind so nothing got done. If tomorrow is similar to today maybe I can get started again. So much to do that I need to get sorted before bad weather sets in. Maybe I am being too pessimistic. Do hope so. Not much colour in the allotment at the moment. Echiums need to be pulled out along with others that have finished not to mention rather a lot of weeds. Privet hedge is desperate for a trim but that would be the last one of the year. The wheelbarrow is full of apples and buckets too. When I see what is stlll on the tree there are going to be a lot more to come. No doubt it will all get done eventually. How is your gardening coming along @Valley Gardener and @Purplerain? Don't know if you have had bad or good weather.
Saw this in the paper yesterday. Thought it was rather cute. Maybe tomorrow we shall be able to report everything we have done in the garden as the sun came out and it was beautiful weather.

Just in case you were wondering, the spider lived to fight another day
