Hedgehog realised he'd left without paying...

So decided to do a runner.

Meanwhile another customer was so shocked by the bar prices....

    ....they decided to go elsewhere.

@Valley Gardener, l've checked on my PC and tablet,  but l can't see a photo of your mystery plant ?

😀 @AnniD. He does look quite furtive. Next time he appears you could nab him to help wash up the dishes in lieu of payment.

I also have trouble with Penstemons Fran. I bought plugs of Heavenly Blue and they did give a good show in last years hot Summer. I took cuttings which was just as well as they didn't survive the Winter. The ones I planted out from cuttings have flowered, but they are struggling so I won't grow them again unfortunately. Will be interested to see what this rose turns out to be when you get a photo.

You forgot to put your photo up @Valley Gardener.

@AnniD Your wit never ceases to make me laugh! Just love it. Obviously no sign of mouse so he must still be busy unpacking after his tiring tour. The bouncers didn't do much of a job.
@Purplerain What I didn't like about my penstemons was the fact that the flowers which hadn't yet come out looked as though the plant was dying. I think mine will be getting the chop but I might keep the one that has really spread out.
@Valley Gardener Whatever your plant is it looks pretty. If it's a weed I wouldn't mind having it in my garden. @Purplerain Hope I can get a photo of the rose but it will depend on the weather tomorrow if I can persuade my daughter to go and take a photo.
  • I expect you already know this @Purplerain, but if you leave the Penstemon foliage all winter, then just cut it down after the worst of the weather,it seems to protect the plant, like a cover of fleece. The wider leafed ones aren't quite so hardy.
    I m a fan of them I must admit.😊

    Good Evening all,
Hope the day has been good for you. I managed to get to the allotment late afternoon when it was dry and then after just starting to cut the hedge it went black and the heavens opened. Don't know what I would have done without the shelter of the shed. Went in there not thinking I would be doing anything more today but after ten to fifteen minutes there was blue sky! It happened so quickly from one extreme to the other. Managed to finish what I had intended to do so was quite pleased. I normally take an umbrella with me. You didn't get an answer for the name of your flower @Valley Gardener
Anyone else managed any gardening today?
    Till tomorrow, goodnight.

    @Valley Gardener,
Can't identify it, l'm afraid. It looks a bit like a cross between a sweet pea and an orchid .

@Purplerain I found that penstemon "Heavenly blue" tended to sprawl everywhere,  and although it survived a winter, and it was a lovely colour, l probably wouldn't grow it again.
I just cut mine down a bit at the end of autumn and then cut them down around the middle/end April.

Glad you achieved all you set out to do @Fran IOM, wish l could say the same ! Got distracted by the cricket  😊
  • Ahhh.......the cricket........Jofra!!😍😘😘
