'trade' paints - much denser pigment than 'retail' ones. And ship varnish.

@Fairygirl, I'm afraid I'm glad Simon's gone, as we now have Sara Cox who makes me laugh out loud.

The issue isn't for me so much that he's been dropped as the way the BBC seems to do things.  He apparently got no direct notification and I understand much the same happened to Tom Jones with The Voice a few years ago when that was broadcast on the BBC.  He only found out through press reports.  Irrespective of the person, I think it's an appalling way to treat anybody.

    Nooooooooooooooo!
I don't mind Sara Cox, but the whole thing was done out of political correctness. I don't care whether presenters are male, female, somewhere in between or have three heads. Putting someone into a show to tick a box is wrong. There are lots of tv shows on the Beeb that seem to be the same.

It was a disgrace the way he found out too - he's been a much loved primetime presenter on BBC radio for over thirty years.

On a similar note - why do so many of the female presenters on tv think they're addressing an audience of pre school children? There's one on an otherwise half decent food type show who says 'WOW!' every thirty seconds.
Thank God for the mute button....

The BBC seem to be so PC , it’s laughable
Always thought jobs should go to the best candidate , religion , sex & colour shouldn’t matter , seems an old fashioned view now

Didn't it get so bad at one point that they needed a disabled person to present the weather to be sufficiently PC and had to train someone up to suit the role? I blame Rupert Murdoch personally... :|
