Yes, our original milkman when we first moved here was a lovely man, a real character. I planted some crocuses by the front door, thinking he would like to see them in the Spring. He died unexpectedly that winter and never saw them, but every year when they appear, l think of him.
When I was a little girl our milkman, with horse and cart, used to arrive at 8.30am would drop our milk off then pick up a little girl who’d had polio, sit her up on the seat with him and trot off to school with her. I’ll never forget that horse, her name was Judy dapple grey.

The dog is not going to leave me alone today until I take him out for a walk in the snow. He's been following me around like a lost bleedin' lamb all day, nosing me and complaining.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Can't believe some of the stories on the news today about people who have got stuck in snow and were totally unprepared - no winter jackets etc never mind the fluid and food bit. And no fuel!

Today's curmudgeonly rant is entirely my own fault. I washed the throws from chairs and sofa today, forgetting there was a burgundy one in the middle of the pile of cream ones... anyone for pink??
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
