@JennyJ Your probably one of our younger members  :)  I'm one of the old IEE dinosaurs left over from the time well before we merged, I originally joined back in the dark ages of the 1980s   :/
Well I'm not retired yet, but plenty of my (much) younger colleagues are IET members, so I don't feel like a "younger member" B)

I'm feeling very curmudgeonly ... I'm horrified to find that I agree with Gove on something :flushed: ... scented candles should be banned!   Poor OH starts wheezing when he encounters one, and I've discovered that (although I have no previously known allergies) my eyes are sore and begin to stream when someone is burning a scented candle ... whatever is in them? :/

If you persist with that behaviour @Dovefromabove, I shall be forced to disown you :):)
How can you lie there and think of England

I have no other apparent symptoms @punkdoc ... hopefully it's not a chronic condition :/

I switched over to unscented washing up liquid and it's amazing how much less it dries your skin out. It's the same Ecover brand stuff just without a smell so it makes you wonder what the smelly stuff actually does to you. I bought it to wash out the dog's bowls thinking he'd appreciate the lack of odour tainting his food and water.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Whisper it quietly, but l agree too ! I hate scented candles, they never "smell right" to me, if you know what l mean. My mum always used to burn one to get rid of the smell of cooking - give me the smell of cooking, even burnt, any day.
