I'm feeling very curmudgeonly ... I'm horrified to find that I agree with Gove on something ... scented candles should be banned! Poor OH starts wheezing when he encounters one, and I've discovered that (although I have no previously known allergies) my eyes are sore and begin to stream when someone is burning a scented candle ... whatever is in them?
They have the same effect on me too Dovefromabove. How anybody can work in places like Lush and Bodyshop is beyond me. I can smell the places from 50 yards and will literally cross the road to put as much distance as possible between them and me.
My OH her daughter< & 1 GD are all very sensitive to scents & smells of various kinds. It can be a curse but it can be useful, like her telling our NDN they had a gas leak, in their front garden. After much searching the gas board did find it eventually.
We have just had to change our washing powder been using the same one for quite a while with no problems after starting a new box last week all we have done is itch no mention on the packet that it's a new formula or anything but somethings changed 🤬
What is so annoying is that I have now had to re wash everything without any detergent and double rinse in the hope that I have removed it.

I can't say I like the 'plug in' fragrance thingies any better than the candles. I'm convinced they are a form of chemical poisoning, too.
Apart from lilies, which make me sneeze, I can generally put up with an airborne fragrance for a short while, although they give me a headache eventually. But I do have very sensitive skin, so a lot of things like washing up liquid have always been a problem. I have tried to get out of doing the washing up on that basis many a time.
