If you could get a scented candle that smelled of sausage sandwiches, I would fill the house with them.

Antihistamines: use them to avoid agreeing with Gove.
    It's the only solution.

I'm feeling very curmudgeonly ... I'm horrified to find that I agree with Gove on something :flushed: ... scented candles should be banned!   Poor OH starts wheezing when he encounters one, and I've discovered that (although I have no previously known allergies) my eyes are sore and begin to stream when someone is burning a scented candle ... whatever is in them? :/
They have the same effect on me too Dovefromabove.  How anybody can work in places like Lush and Bodyshop is beyond me.  I can smell the places from 50 yards and will literally cross the road to put as much distance as possible between them and me.

  • My OH her daughter< & 1 GD are all very sensitive to scents & smells of various kinds. It can be a curse but it can be useful, like her telling our NDN they had a gas leak, in their front garden. After much searching the gas board did find it eventually.

  • We have just had to change our washing powder been using the same one for quite a while with no problems after starting a new box last week all we have done is itch no mention on the packet that it's a new formula or anything but somethings changed 🤬

What is so annoying is that I have now had to re wash everything without any detergent and double rinse in the hope that I have removed it.

I can't say I like the 'plug in' fragrance thingies any better than the candles. I'm convinced they are a form of chemical poisoning, too.

Apart from lilies, which make me sneeze, I can generally put up with an airborne fragrance for a short while, although they give me a headache eventually. But I do have very sensitive skin, so a lot of things like washing up liquid have always been a problem. I have tried to get out of doing the washing up on that basis many a time. A hex on these terrible companies that sell fragrance free versions and make me do my share of chores

  • I have just done some painting outside. The blue stuff used to "wash" the brushes afterwards smells stronger than the Paint :#
