The EU approve of the deal, Parliament don't. If Parliament approved of it the EU wouldn't. She has kept her dignity in an impossible situation.
Well said Liz, she must be exhausted, no one else would have wanted to do it. She must feel awful.

  • The problem is, she's trying to square a circle ... she's a pragmatist surrounded by doctrinal fanatics :/

  • Morning all.

Interesting sky, Pat!  Glad you've had useful amounts of rain at last.

It's a hibernating sort of day today...

Hi Liri. Yes we didn’t know what to think about the sky. There are no fires near here.
Anyway, I’m gping to bed soon.
    Night all.

  • Night Pat.  Hope the weather doesn't keep you awake... looks the colour of thunderclouds round here...

Nobody is forcing her! She could always quit. Clearly she's not up to the job. Even her own backbenchers think so.

She was guilty of " contempt of Parliament": no dignity in that.
On a lighter, and less contentious note, I've just been to a closing down sale in town  and got 16 pairs of socks and 4 bottles of sun tan lotion for £18.

It wouldn’t matter who was doing the negotiations, whatever the solution, it would never suit everyone. No one else wants to do it, i feel very sorry for her.
We are all back room politicians, which one of us would could honestly say they could have done the job.

Very wet here and very welcome too.   Glad you're getting some now Pat.

Have given up watching the news for a while.  Too depressing.   Given the intransigence on all sides and the naivety of 99% of TM's parliamentary colleagues and opposition about how the EU works and would react to Brexit I can't see any way forward at the mo so it's maybe time for all sides to stop and take a break.

We're out dancing this evening and I need to shorten a skirt I plan to wear.   Then messing with Xmas decs.  We'll watch the SCD final tomorrow when OH gets in from his golf AGM.

Stay warm everyone, whatever you're doing.  Hope you're feeling better today Busy and anyone else with colds or other ailments.

    Greetings all.
Just had a tasty brunch of croissants and scrambled eggs with a bit of bacon and mushrooms 😋 so ready to tackle some Christmas wrapping now. I will hide out in the dining room as cats and wrapping paper/sticky tape/ribbons do not mix!
Have a good day all, whether you venturing out or staying firmly inside.

her "deal" doesn't suit ANYONE. She had a team of civil servants, negotiators, and lawyers and it's a total shambles.
