Bl,,dy thing! I was writing that I would like to send some hot weather to you all. It might be more bearable if it was spread around a bit.😀 We are expecting a visit from Regina tonight. The only positive bit is that there is a series on the History channel about bushfires. That should shut her up from spoiling my usual programs.

I might add that the thought of lard as a substitute for coconut oil made me shudder!
I suppose it wouldn’t be that different once it had melted in the sun Hosta. Might not smell as nice though. 😂😂😂

Hubby (the cook) suggested adding currants to make Larry cakes.

Lard, doc.  He'd be well browned in that heat!  :D
Might need some lard today - well the birds will anyway.  Crispy crunchy outside. a welcome relief from the wind and rain of the last week. Meant to get a bit of sun, but I doubt it'll be quite your temps Pat  ;)
Oops - forgetting myself - morning all/afties, evening Pat  :)
I'm surprised you haven't had that story on your news Pat. Desperately sad.  She was the same age as my youngest. As I'm looking through all my photos just now - it makes even more poignant. Can't begin to imagine what those souls are going through. Bad enough, as you well know, but worse at this time of year when others are full of excitement and fun as Christmas approaches.

Hi Fairy. At long last it’s been in the news so I now know about it. They’ve found a body. Very sad, as you say.

I'll lift the gloom with a couple of wee pix of the sunrise here. I can't get a good enough view, too many houses in the way, but you get the gist

wider view across the rooftops to the windfarm up on the moor
