Last year we lost the collared doves and the dunnocks,  they haven't made it back yet @fire. But it's not very good science anymore.

Were dunnocks on the top ten previously?

I think it's two, maybe more 🤔 years since they made it🤔

We have a very handsome dunnock trying to attract a mate with a repetitive little dance this week. He flits about on top of our garden swing flashing his wings then flies down to our windowsill. It is a bit odd to see one displaying so openly when they are normally such unobtrusive little things, the classic SBB in fact.

I have to be careful going outside at this time of year because of the chasing Dunnock or Blackbirds,  nearly taking my head off, or that's how it seems 😆

We have just discovered a blackbird nest located in some bamboo at the rear of our garden. First time I've seen them nexting in the area by our garden. Spotted at least 2 biggish chicks.

It's disappointing to find that the nest is lined full of bits of plastic though. It doesn't seem very natural but I guess it keeps the chicks warm.
