I saw the headlines about Sunak's dishonesty. When's the last time you read of an honourable member of the government doing a decent or selfless thing? I can only think that members of the government have all availed themselves of sturdy bushels because there isn't a chink of light coming from any of them.
I feel that the ever-voluble Anti-vaxxers are putting other people's lives in
danger for an anti-science ideology. As a result, the vulnerable may not be able to get
vaccinated. If the vaccine is deemed safe by the stringent measures in the
scientific community that have been in place now for decades, surely that is good
enough assurance.
I, of course, do not include those who are unable to
take the vaccine. But it is precisely for those people that, I believe, the healthy should
take it. As I understand it, no one will be “making” anyone take the vaccine, but anti-vaxxers can't expect
to be able to endanger other people's lives in confined spaces, such as aeroplanes, if they exercise that freedom.
Though it is a highly
contagious and deadly virus, they can choose not to take it but others must have the right to take it and stop those unvaccinated persons, and thus dangerous to others, from possibly infecting them.
It's a choice.
Though I am against obligatory vaccination, I see
no problem with airlines wanting evidence that you will not endanger fellow
passengers' lives. However, my not having a problem with people needing to prove thy're safe to fly is the opposite of anti-vaxxers AND Brexiters removing other people's rights. There's a choice here.
Alas, vaccination has been politicized, the same as masks have. Russian trolls are going to town spreading misinformation. Again....
