Hi Nel_Staffs , this is a very poignant pastiche of Kipling's original, much shorter but so accurate in its description of the current political reality! I, certainly, "enjoyed" reading it. Thank you.
I blush to say that I knew nothing about Brian Bilston but after reading Nel_Staffs' posts I "checked him out". A very interesting man. Though he mostly made me think, sometimes he also made me giggle:

At about 7pm yesterday, OH was taking a bath whilst I was upstairs too, closing bedroom windows, curtains etc.
Suddenly, the doorbell went, so I looked out of the window to see who it was. Two men, 30-ish, looked up and told me my car boot was open. From where I was standing I could see my car perfectly clearly; the boot wasn't open. I thanked them for their kindness and asked them to "just push it down for me".
Apparently, the price of second hand cars has increased lately, thus the exceptional recent spate in car thefts.
Perhaps, when insuring a car, it would be wise to research thoroughly the cost of replacing it AND any additions to it, as the constant price rise of goods could leave one seriously out of pocket.
